The role

About KSM

Kelly Scott Madison—KSM—is a leading, independent media and advertising agency that future-proofs brands and fuels business growth. Our team of strategists, solutionists, technologists, and data analysts work united with incredible brand partners, helping them connect with customers in more meaningful ways today and positioning them to move with the customers of tomorrow. It’s an amazing and transformative time at our growing media agency.

At KSM, it’s about more than just a passion for our industry and craft. It’s about the impact we make on the lives and livelihoods of those around us and the highly personal experience we have here. Being an independent, mid-size agency—not too big, not too small, and proudly entrepreneurial—you’ll be empowered, recognized, and challenged to grow here. We’re adding new Bold Builders and uncommon perspectives to our community and can’t wait to learn more about you. Let’s explore the opportunity...

The Opportunity

We’re looking for an Integrated Media Planner who can help translate client business objectives into connected, cross-channel plans for key client(s). You will bring media strategy to life through thoughtful planning, data-centric analysis, reliable execution, and strong partnership across teams and disciplines. Beyond managing the fundamentals, you will develop the judgment to understand how audiences, channels, data, creative, activation, and measurement work together—and begin using those connections to strengthen recommendations and client outcomes. As our team continues evolving toward a more integrated planning and investment model, you will be expected to learn quickly, build fluency across offline and digital media, and use evolving tools thoughtfully to create more capacity for insight, judgment, and client impact.

The Ways You Will Make an Impact

  • Create cross-channel, tactical media plans rooted in client business objectives, audience insights, and data-centric analysis, including channel allocation, budget development, and tactical recommendations.
  • Partner closely with and build an understanding of Investment Solutions, Analytics & Insights, and other agency disciplines to ensure continuity between strategy, planning, activation, and measurement.
  • Analyze campaign performance, marketplace trends, and client data to explain what happened, why it matters, and contribute to recommendations for what the team or client should do next.
  • Build familiarity with campaign activation and optimization across key digital platforms, with opportunities to support select in-platform responsibilities as team needs evolve.
  • Learn and use evolving tools to reduce routine work, improve the quality or speed of analysis, and create more capacity for insight, judgment, and client impact.
  • Own the creative trafficking workflow, including client communication and internal trafficking communication.
  • Maintain accurate team and client documentation, including flowcharts, budget sheets, status reports, and campaign materials, while ensuring timelines and budget commitments stay on track.
  • Identify practical opportunities to simplify recurring work and improve team processes without compromising accuracy or accountability.
  • Present tactical recommendations, performance learnings, and POVs to clients, while communicating proactively with internal and external stakeholders throughout the planning process.
  • Participate in competitive and marketplace analysis and contribute to agency POVs on relevant industry, consumer, media, and retail developments.
  • Support team members and contribute to agency-wide initiatives, technology advancements, and marketplace upskilling.

Experience You Should Bring

  • 1–2 years of cross-channel media planning or buying experience, ideally within an agency environment.
  • Experience translating client business objectives into actionable cross-channel media recommendations through data-centric analysis, including channel allocation and tactical planning.
  • Category experience in CPG, C-Store, Casino & Gaming, OR Retail preferred.
  • Experience analyzing campaign performance and translating results into clear recaps, insights, implications, and recommendations.
  • Experience managing flowcharts, budgets, campaign documentation, and multiple channel workstreams with strong attention to detail.
  • Experience with creative trafficking processes.
  • Intermediate to advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Familiarity with digital campaign activation, optimization, and reporting; hands-on experience with platforms such as The Trade Desk, Meta, TikTok, or similar platforms is a plus.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities, timelines, and stakeholders simultaneously.

How You Think & Work

  • You use good judgment and take ownership: You’re building the judgment to balance speed, accuracy, and impact. You take ownership of your work, use the information available to recommend a next step, and know when to seek additional context or guidance.
  • You adapt as the work evolves: You stay organized and dependable as priorities, tools, and needs shift. You can reprioritize your work, communicate changes, and keep the client outcome in view.
  • You’re a continuous learner: You actively build new knowledge, ask “why,” seek feedback, and apply what you learn across clients, channels, and tools.
  • You communicate clearly and collaborate well: You explain the why behind your work, ask thoughtful questions, invite useful perspectives, and build trust through clarity, follow-through, confidence, and humility.
  • You connect the dots: You’re curious about how the pieces fit together and actively build your understanding of how planning decisions influence activation, measurement, budgets, timelines, and the broader client objective.
  • You figure things out: You make progress when the path isn’t fully defined without losing sight of the details. You gather context, identify what’s missing, test a practical next step, and know when to ask for help.
  • You look for ways to make the work better: You respect the fundamentals while looking for practical ways to make your own work clearer, faster, or more valuable, and bring forward ideas that may help the team.
